Coil Life.

Hello,

Can somebody please tell me how long an average 'coil' should last please ?
The reason I ask is that after 80,000 of having no problems with the coils, they now fail about every 6000 miles !!!. I have replaced with Bosch and Sagem and both seem to fail. Could there be latent cause ??

My local Renault dealer advise changing all four coils if one breaks down, whereas Renault UK dont seem to agree ?
(£80 each at dealer, £50 off of the AA).

Any ideas please ???

i know its a common fault on some of the brands but dont know why they fail but they are cheaper from gsf car parts and are good quality
