Hello all!
We bought our house with the garage already converted many years prior to our purchase in 2018.

The garage was originally a double garage, half of the garage was converted to a room in 2003. Room is 5.46m by 2.55m

The partition wall looks like breeze block, out side normal red brick. Insulation is in the loft and have noticed someone has drilled a hole from the garage side into the breeze block and it looks like insulation is present looks abit like the insulation in the loft (candy floss like)

When the heating is on the room warms up nice and toasty! However, when it's not on its cold & doesnt keep the heat in for very long. It's been like this since we've lived here.

The flooring near the edges which go under the skirting board are a tad springy.. we assume it has a suspended wooden floor. Could the integrity of the wood be damaged therefore loosing heat?

What is the likely reason for the cold? I think it could be lack of insulation under the floor board. I know without lifting the floor we can't be sure but we do feel the cold a lot under our feet.

When we get round to it I am thinking of looking into having the floor screeded, will this help retain heat? (Understand this is costly)

Many thanks for reading this post and any advice!

You need to check what insulation you have in all areas.
