I've just has a replacement sink plumbed in. The new tap is a mixer, previously it was separate hot and cold taps.

With the new mixer tap, turning on the cold side sometimes causes the combi boiler to fire up. For some reason it seems to momentarily think that there is a hot water demand.

The hot water demand light on the panel never illuminates though and there is no follow through.

Is this normal with mixer taps? I've never (yes, really) had one before.

Perhaps it's a slight suction that momentarily causes the illusion that the hot side has been opened and there is a demand for hot?

If it didn't do it before you have an air dead leg in system caused by draining to fit the taps try the machine machine outlet u prob find that ain't used anymore as they are cold fill the air could be there just open an shut til water comes out if not it may be more difficult to find ie old cylinder deadleg
