Hi all - first post, so please be gentle !
I live in a rural cottage with a private water supply via a borehole and a pressure vessel.
There is not room for a cold water tank in the house as the bedrooms are in the roof space.
We have a fortic type tank upstairs which provides enough pressure for the bathroom which is down stairs.
We would like to put the bathroom upstairs but without a cold tank this is a problem.
My question is can I put a cold water tank outside ? I have a large garden and field sloping up behind the house and could easily situate a 1000 ltr tank (in a suitably insulated house/shed) above the roof height and run it to a normal hot water tank in the house.
If this possible it would solve many problems - we get a lot of power cuts and the rubbish 100 ltr pressure vessel we have runs out very quickly in a house of 4, also they don't last long and it would mean we can have an upstairs bathroom.
Any help / opinions greatly received
Thanks
