I need to replace a galvanized metal cold water tank in the loft. One plumber told me it would cost between 400 and 500 including the tank depending on the size, not including cost for any pipes other than a short length.

Does anyone know if this is about right?

The same person told me that repiping the whole house - three bed requiring about 60 m of copper pipes in his estimate - would cost about 1,500 in labour plus about 200 for pipes. This does not include any waste pipes or work on it.

Any views on this one?

Thank you

200 for the pipes sounds cheap.

Without seeing the complexity of the house, it's hard to determine whether the rest is a fair price or not. How does his price compare with the 2 other quotes you have sought from local tradesmen? :D

Thank you. Actually, I only have one quote so far. It's a house I am thinking of buying, so don't know too much about it.
