Cold Water Tap

I'm new to this site but top stuff.

My cold water in the kitchen has stopped working. EVERYTHING else is perfect even the garden tap which is also fed from the mains.

I have dismantled the tap and the washer is fine there have been no work done so it can't be dirt.

Any suggestions? Can you have an airlock on a mains tap?

What sort of tap, 1/4 turn , old, "Supatap" ??

If you turn the stop cock on with the top off the tap does water hit the ceiling?

chris supa taps werent 1/4 turn and had a check valve built in (showing my age now)

Guys,

The tap was from screwfix and is 1/4 turn.

I have tried opening the stock cock but still no water?

I think my house is haunted.

Any more ideas.

quatre turn taps have ceramic discs usually these days. plus have you fitted a service valve?

seems unlikely but maybe the manufacturer forgot to drill a hole in the ball inside the service valve, or through on of the ceramic discs.
