My sister's 15 year old Procombi A32 has been condemned because the heat exchanger is blocked.

The heating business that fitted the Procombi have quoted for a new boiler install.
Main combi 30kw £2198 inc vat (5 year warranty)
Baxi Platinum 30kw £2846 inc vat (10 year warranty)

Are these quotes reasonable considering there'll be minimal pipe work to do?
The boiler is in an upstairs cupboard.

Condemned in what way ?
As for the price it looks like a vertical flue that will be coming out the roof so the amount of flue extensions soon ramp up the cost at 60 quid a piece then vertical terminal at over 100 quid , lead slate, flue elbows at around 80 quid a pair .
Will also need a new programable room stat as the clocks dont come on the boilers anymore.
.
but
Baxi platinium compact is not 650 quid dearer than the main 30kw.prob around £350 with no extra work required to fit it as its basically the same boiler
And it also comes with the filter in the box saving up to a hundred quid there as well

Its Co Durham

The flue goes into the attic and out the gable end.

The diagnoses is a chocked/blocked heat exchanger, £910 inc vat quoted to supply & fit a new one.

The 5 year warranty compared to the 10 year is likely the price difference. Warranty is paying for replacement parts in advance.

i take it they are on about the main heat exchanger at that price and not a plate heat exchanger .
Yeah i know the price difference is the warranty length but that doesnt change the fact there should not be a 600 quid difference in price for something that is only 350 quid dearer to buy .
