We will be have some work undertaken at our house (couple of extensions) so taking the opportunity of relocating the existing combi boiler into the garage (just on the other side of the wall from its existing location) - also the combi is apparently 15 years old, so time for something more efficient.

Can anyone suggest a good model/make? The general builder will include the fitting and supply (i could possibly supply myself) but hasnt suggested any makes/models.

The house will be (following the work) a 4 bedroom, study, large kitchen/livingroom, sittingroom, bathroom, etc at least 11 radiators varying in size, no power shower (its electric), 2 young kids, so bath needing run every 2nd night at least

cheers

providing you have adequate cold mains supply you should look at the Vaillant ecotec plus 937 (and 837), glow worm Xtramax HE, glow worm ultracom 38 cxi. My personal choice would be the 937.

Thanks for the prompt response.

Someone (who knows nothing about heating/plumbing!) suggested a condensing combi as they tend to be more energy efficient.

Is this correct? are your suggestions condensing boilers?

the vast majority of all boilers now sold are condensing, and yes those listed are condensing.
