We have a Powermax CP155 Combi Boiler, installed by the developers of our estate when our 4 Bed home was built almost five years ago.
The water around here is pretty hard and we found that after 18 months the water temperature output was starting to give us problems so the boiler was descaled (chemically).
The problem was solved but within two years things started to 'creek' again! We haven't had the system descaled as yet but this is due to one plumber who we spoke to saying "..it ain't worth it, you need a new one". The boiler's fitted with an electronic scale inhibitor (again a Powermax retro fit) but this appears to have had little effect over time.
I've also heard it said that a combi system ISN'T the best for a family and that the life expectancy for a hard water area is around 5-7 years for one of these units.
Does anyone have any views/thoughts/experiences....just seeking a second opinion really please.
Thanks
