Hello All

Okay I have decided to replace my combi rather than keep throwing money at it.

Some professional advice would be great:

In a flat, 8 Radiators, 1 bath, 2 showers (none operate at same time).
Currently got a Potterton Lynx 2, I dont want a potterton again thats for sure. Want a good quality boiler, Valiant, Worcester, Ideal, all I have heard as good.

What are my options?
How much should I expect to pay for the bolier?
How much for installation?
Any grants or good deals anyone knows of?

Your time and advice would be really appreciated.

Wash your mouth out.
You have used the word Ideal.

I would steer clear if I were you.

Although some will say that the Ideal Logic is a different story.

Sorry, I meant the Ideal Logic, like you said, people are saying they are a changed company and very good combi's now.

How true is this?

Why take the chance?
Repair costs if they do break down are higher than some other brands.

Well the logics have been more reliable but who is to say they won't
hit their life expectancy and start dropping like flies.
Plus it seems that Ideal will try and wriggle out of the their warranty
so maybe no warranty to fall back on.
It will take longer and more boilers to convince me of a changed Ideal boiler.

Heating/boiler grants generally mean you get whatever the installer chooses to fit, which will usually be the cheapest thing available.
Better to pay yourself and get something decent, rather than pay little or nothing and get a pile of junk.

I have been looking at boilers and the Worcester collection is confusing me.

What is the difference other than price between the
Junior, Si and CDI range?

Am I beter off going for one rather than another?
