hello i have also installed a premier 48 which works fine but the only thing i cant get working is the comip the manual that came with it is very limited it does'nt tell you how to configure it with your router or wintex software please can anyone help
I currently have a COMIP module set up in my Premier48 and I'm sure I can help you out with this one.
You need to configure the COMIP module with an IP address, port the subnet mask for your network and the default gateway. All of which can be found in the UDL/Digi Options > Setup Modules > Setup IP Data.
Obviously I can't vouch for your particular network but usually off the shelf SOHO routers are set up as Class C subnetting in the 192.168.1.x range.
So for example:
IP. 192.168.1.100
Port: 10001 (Default)
Netmask: 255.255.255.0
Default Gateway: 192.168.1.1
Then just set up an account in Wintex, configure it to connect via IP to those details. Obviously ensure you're on the same subnet and the IP is not currently allocated to another device on the network.
If you get this working correctly I'd be interested to hear if you have any temperamental issues with the module, after a period of time using Wintex or my own testing software the panel seems to register COM Faults and I assume this is down to my own module being faulty but nonetheless I'd be interested to hear the outcome.
