If an application is put in to the council to change the use of a commercial property from A1 to D1 and if it is approved, but for whatever reason the decision to proceed is cancelled, when exactly does the change of use approval take place from? Is it when work has been done to the property or the date of approval? How easy is it to cancel or reverse the process?
Forget about comments please about knowing what you want and signing legal papers first etc. I am just curious to know what happens if a change of use is granted but maybe not wanted afterwards. Unlike a planning application, if the work is not started after 3 years, it expires and cannot be relied upon.
