communication breakdown

Is it just me or is this a new phenomenon. There seem to be a lot of posts resulting from a lack of understanding about other peoples posts. It sometimes seems like someone can post and then 3 other people discuss what he/she meant, should he/she apologise (and to whom), someone doesn't understand what's going on so it has to be explained and various other complications.
I'm sure it didn't use to be like this, it seems to have taken over from the old limpy/fascist conflicts.

old members signed up as new nics for the purpose of trolling ,its strange the rabid old nics have disapeared when these new nics posts ..lol


or they may just be new to forums/internet ..lol

they are finding there way here ...

do we really want too go back too those nasty old threads of kill muslims/death penalty etc

1)The language used on this forum is English (UK English, so colour does have a ‘u’ in it).

2) Please be aware we have many forum members from many countries, and English is not always their first language. We demand tolerance when replying to a post that may not be in the best written English and we will not tolerate impatient responses.

3) Please also be aware that a word or phrase can mean different things in different countries. That combined with the 'non emotional' nature of Internet communication can mean that fellow postees intentions can occasionally be misunderstood.

Seems that No3 is the cause of many of the recent problems especially for newbies

I'm not worried by anything apart from the huge pile of paperwork at my left elbow.

I am an old member with a new nic but I don't know what trolling is, unless it involves hanging out under bridges and eating small children, you may get upto that kind of thing in Lancs but it's frowned upon round here.

Not saying we do or don't, it's the 'fugees that worry me, oh yes and the mad mullahs.... and child molesters..... and people who can't park properly .....and limp-wristed-liberals..... and people who drive with their foglamps on....and, and...hang on a minute I need to sit down.

I can definately say that if im doing it wrong on here, it is for no reason other than not understanding or misunderstanding how it is supposed to be.

I know that I for sure am still getting used to the direct , unemotional email speak... (as also mentioned in this thread)

so, if you are refering to me then I would appreciate being told what I personally am doing to annoy or miff you.

Then I could make this a better place for you and me.

I'm afraid that's life and no-one is breaking the rules, I'm missing the good debates we used to have from kendor, richardp, david & julie, freddie, bas, b_s and so on, maybe an idea if diynot have another section for politics, good or bad away form the general chat side of it, I've noticed it's becoming a live chat-line!

Toffee I was not referring personally to you or anyone else and I'm certainly not getting annoyed (except by this damn tight leopardskin thong, but that's another story.) I'm just saying that it's different now and you have illustrated what I mean by replying to my post asking if I meant you personally.

Don't apologise for not understanding people, there are quite a few posts that I never understand but if people can't make themselves clear then s*d 'em, I'm not going to make an issue out of it.

Yes I think that you should make this a better place for you and me, if you reply to all my posts telling me how witty and charming I am, I will reply to all yours telling you that you are sweet and beautiful. Deal?
