Hi Guys,

i am building my own extension, anyhow, dug the footings, and laid a mot1 base and compacted it 2 to 3 inches at a go.

However is wringing wet..and its like walking on a sponge.

I assume i will need to let this dry out before i can doing anything with it.

so do i cover it with a tarpaulin to stop it getting any wetter, or do i let it get rained on so it washed all the muddy crap from the quary through so it drains properly?

All suggestions gratefully recieived.

cheers Adrian

p.s

10 Tons by wheel barrow isnt much fun..

Hi

No not in the footings.

Basically scraped the site down 700mm, and shuttered up the middle filled with harcore. This leaves a 600mm strip around the edge. Basically a downstand raft foundation.
