Hi people
So my 12 year old combi has been written off and I'm in the process of getting quotes for a new Combi.
This is obviously an important decision to make as I have a young family and want to make sure I choose the correct system and installer to give some peace of mind.
So my questions are -
Should an engineer automatically be offering to power/chemical clean my system before install or would I be expected to ask for this separately?
Should a new install come with an inline filter as standard or again would I need to ask for this specifically?
Should I ask to keep my existing Honeywell wireless room stat to save money or are the latest stats with phone apps etc much better?
Can I ask for a thermostatic shower to be plumbed in at the same time as the boiler or is this not the done thing?
I am having quotes for a valiant, a Viessman and a Baxi.
So far the first engineer didn't mention any pre-clean or filter until I prompted him and he said yes we can do that if required.
Any advice appreciated.

Yes, it should be part of the install and the manufacturer will usually ask for it in their MI

Yes - As above

Depends - You current stat may be fine

You can ask and it could be billed as part of the boiler work or it may be considered a separate job ..... or he may not fit showers
