Compression fitting identification required!

Dear All,

Under my upstairs bath is a compression fitting which forms a 'capped off end'. It is fitted to a 22mm copper pipe.

I believe the 'cap' is definately female so it is not one of these:-

I would appreciate it if people could view photos of the fitting and tell me what type it is please:-

the centre 'nut' appears to have a round flange on it. I am thinking it maybe a 22mm compression to 3/4" iron like this one:-

You are correct.

A 22mm x 3/4inch and a 3/4inch cap screwed over 3/4inch tail.

Looks a bit like the one you link to, 3/4" BSP on 22mm X 3/4" adapter, but it could also be a 3/4" cap mangled onto a 22mm compression thread, some times they fit on old compression sockets.

Why do you need to know?

If you want to cap off the other pipe just use a 22mm comp cap if you want to connect up just use a 22mm comp socket.

I need to extend the pipe but access is extremely tight so am considering the options of what to do when the cap is removed. There is no mangling though

Remove the fitting leaving nut and olive on old pipe behind fitting. Use a compression straight 22mm coupler fitting and connect to new pipe.

Just buy a new 22mm comp socket, as stardanny says pretty good chance you can reuse the nut and olive on the old pipe to save you needing to remove them.
