Computer Freezing

Hoping someone can help....
Our computer freezes whenever it feels like it, sometimes within minutes of opening, sometimes after an hour or so. Doesn't seem to make any difference whether or not on internet, in a document or whatever. Any suggestions as to why and how to fix greatly appreciated!

Had same problem once, it was due to a faulty RAM card. Have a look on google for a ram tester.
