Hello wise forum
I am needing to replace our concealed wall mounted shower thermostat / mixer.
It has two dials, one to turn the shower on and off and the other to adjust the water temperature.

If I was to buy a replacement are they fairly straight forward to replace, or do I need the expert help of a plumber?

Thank you
James

I think they are easy enough to change if you can find a replacement and gain access.
I fitted mine and its been in over 20 years but I remember the cartridge comes out so it can be swapped

1. It would help if you could post a picture of the existing shower.
2. If you know the exact make and model you may be lucky and find an exact replacement (same make and model). Even so, a lot will depend on how it was originally fitted, in particular whether inlets are accessible and with enough space to remove the old and connect to the new.
3. If you can't source an exact replacement I'd suggest it is likely to require a plumber. The entry points for hot and cold will likely be different, and so could the outlet(s). This may require tile removal and wall excavation both to locate the supplies and to modify them to fit the new.
