Hi

I am building an outdoor kitchen out of concrete blocks, to be clad or rendered.

I’ve been asked if I can put some inglenooks in to have some candles/lights.

I plan just to have a gap about 100mm and a concrete block over the gap. Just a gap in the brickwork with a brick at the back of the inglenook, so it will form the recess.

Is that safe or do I need to reinforce the gap too.

I’m using dense 7.3N blocks.

Thanks

Nathan

Thank you very much.

I wasn’t sure how much load they could take above. It will be 3-4 more courses above.

Makes life a lot easier and keeps the mrs happy too
