Concrete Bungalow Hole

Hi, I am considering buying a concrete bungalow and am going to get a survey, but before I do, is a hole near the base repairable? The hole is about 10x20x5cmabout

I wonder if it is a hole in a wall, near a drain.

The hole is at the far corner on the return

You picture really doesn't show us.

Is it a section of render that has fallen off?

The presence of the rusty downpipe makes me suspect that water has got behind the render through a crack, causing a water bubble or frost expansion to push it off.

I don't know where ground level is or why there is rotten wooden cladding.

What county is it in? Do you know what a cob house is?
