Hi, 1930s property that has concrete floor. Damp rising up through the floor is possible due to the broken drainage pipes around the property caused by root ingress. This is being fixed. Have taken up the self levelling and concrete to about an inch. However it looks like they have installed wooden batons in the flooring to get the levels for the concrete. Problem is there is no dpm in the concrete so moisture from floor is travelling up the wood and then soaking the floor. How much concrete do i need to take out and apply dpm and then re screed? Wood buttons run along the lines every 2 feet.

Are there any artbricks on the outside of the house?

I ask because it looks to me like those might be wooden joists for an original wooden floor that has been filled in.

Look at the outside water stopcock, and the inside water stopcock. Does the water pipe between them pass under this floor?

How much? Thickness? All of it I'm guessing. How on earth were you planning on removing only part of the thickness?

Hi John, no air bricks from what I can see, it's rendered on outside. Neighbour has suspended flooring so likely at some point suspended flooring removed and filled in with concrete. Haven't located any joists but the wood seems to be stakes as only 2x3. No outside stop cock, water pipe enters kitchen floor at rear of property. Possible pipe is split and runs under house.

Thanks
