Had my back yard concreated last year,
But it is now breaking up and there is white dusty footprints treading in onto the carpet, looks like it;s been a bad mix,

The builders have now promised to repair it,
I understood they were going to remove the bad concrete and replace,
but they are going to scree it,
And then top off with maxcrete,
Is this the standard way to fix this problem or are they cutting corners.

I also would like to know what the standard height of steps are,
as i am disabled and my steps to the rear of my house are very high,
they are one breeze block high plus the lintel.

thanks. :D

Steps are normally 150mm-200mm.. mostly they are aimed at 160mm-175mm anything else feels strange.

Well max rise here is 220mm, with min going 220mm.. course this is an external stair so doesnt nesassarily have to comply with building regs, unless they are part of the main entrance.

Disabled stairs are normally 75mm-150mm rise.

In Scotland maximum rise is 170mm. Min going 250mm.

Has that changed in the new regs? I seem to remember Max 220, min going 225? Or is that for an internal

Can't remember!

220 max rise and 220 min going in 2000 edition of Part K. Still its an external non access stair so doesnt have to use regs.
