Hello all,
I am in the process of doing up my concrete sills. They were in a really bad state with all the years of paint flaking off so I am stripping it all off. I have done most of it with a heat gun. I had pvc windows installed a few years ago and the installers seem to have used silicon to seal the bottom edge to the sill. Problem is, (apart from looking really dirty) now that I have stripped the thick layers of old paint, the silicon no longer has a sealed edge and looks frayed and not very tidy.
So I was thinking of pulling the sealant out, painting and then re-sealing. But would I be better using a paintable frame sealant? Can anyone recommend a good one made for this purpose? Do they seal as well as silicon?
I have googled but it is not very clear which is suitable. Thanks in advance!
