Hi

I'm taking delivery of my log cabin shortly but still cant decide whats best to build it on!

I've whacker plated 1.5 tons of mot type 1 firm and level(ish)

What I'm now pondering over is whats best for the floor/cabin bearers/joists to build up off of. I've thought about laying 4 rows of 8 450x450x32mm concrete slabs or 28 440X215X75mm solid 7.0N/mm2 concrete blocks (4 per bearer/joist) or 28 215x215x215mm concrete padstones (again 4 per bearer/ joist).

I know the slabs will take and spread the weight nicely as will the padstones but I'm concerned the blocks wont!

I would like to go with the blocks as they are by far the cheapest option, less than a pound each!

My log cabin is 5mx4m and 3.5m to the ridge in 44mm logs.

Any help would be greatly appreciated

Thanks

Mitch.

The blocks should be more than adequate as the 7n blocks you mention are of the same standard as foundation blocks.
