I need to lay some flat top concrete edging stones (patio edging) but the weather recently hasn’t been great as we all know

How dry does it actually have to be to concrete these edging stones in?

Is it ok to do on wet ground so long as there are no standing puddles in it?

I’m happy to wait for a dry day (May be waiting a while longer ) but if I can get it done in damp conditions without effecting it then I will do!

Cheers

Damp is better than dry, as long as the cement doesn't actually get washed away.

Wetter the better! Concrete/mortar loves water. The biggest enemy is the sun (drying out) and frost. Each of those denies the muck water.

Never let concrete get thirsty!

Would you suggest covering with plastic if it’s meant to rain after installing?
Not especially, unless you have a surface that could spoil. Concentrations of water, funnelled into a 'river' is the only harmful thing, really.

So it’s ok to put concrete edges in when it’s wet on ground but not best to do while it’s raining?
