Hi,

Bought a house a few years ago which always needed a work out the back on a outhouse/shed construction that's has always been a bit cold, and there is no heating out there.

Due to a recent flat roof leak, the plasterboard is rotten through and needs to be replaced and am thinking of insulating it all, but i don't want to go through the hassle of running central heating to it.

As it is such a condensation drain, how important is sorting out heating in there in addition to properly insulating it?

There is a door between it and the rest of the house that is normally closed so it's normally left standalone.

in case of condensation, add ventilation.

If you still get condensation, add more ventilation.

Find where the moisture is coming from. If it is attached to a warm, humid house, probably there.

If it has sink, washing machine, tumble drier, WC etc, from there.

If not, it might be damp from the leaky roof, or through the floor, or damp walls. or leaky plumbing that might be buried..

In any case, ventilate it to dry it out.

Central heating would be overkill, but adding some kind of background heating to raise the temp by a few degrees would still be beneficial. Maybe a tubular, panel or storage heater. Even an oil filled rad on a 'brief' timer.
Do as John says in any case.
