Condensation / Porch

Hello,

I've got a lead covered flat roof porch which is bloody cold as it's just stone walls. The pipe passes through internally and back out the side to a hopper and downpipe.

I'm guessing this is condensation - of which we have a lot of, the dehumidifier is running on the ground floor.

I've painted the pipe with gloss to stop it attracting mould. Can the pipe be lagged or boxed in? Or even moved?

Can't get a rad to this area so it's constantly cold.

Wondering if there's other options at all?

You may well have a weep on the rainwater pipes, water could be tracking down the pipes.

Condensation could be forming as there is probably little or no insulation in the roof.
You would need to pull some of the ceiling down to investigate.

Easiest fix would be to bond some insulated plasterboard to the wall and ceiling, and have a good check around the downpipes to see if there are any leaks or splits leaks in the flat roof.

As for radiator, could you not use an oil fired electric job?

So insulate in the void (cold roof), then is the insulated board going to get damp if applied tight to the wall? it would condense still wouldn't it?

I would bring the whole ceiling down below the pipe with celotex or similar, that way you get rid of the thermal bridging.
