Condensing boiler and header tank

Hello. I have a newish condensing boiler with a header tank in my loft which I have just discovered has a lot of water spilt around it. A visiting plumber tells me this is "blowing off" and that I should not have a header tank but an enclosed system with a vessel. He says this would cost £320 to flush out the system plus £280 to reconfigure to include a vessel. Does all this make sense please and is he right about reconfiguring and the cost of this?

flush is not needed in most cases depends on how much you are paying for the boiler i do a boiler replacement from 900 east yorkshire area including boiler

Reminds me of a "no blame no claim" type TV advert I saw a few months back. It said something along the lines of "We can claim up to £5000, or more". What amount of money isn't included in that sentence?

Yes it was installed two to three years ago and obviously they were paid! But should they have removed the old header tank and installed a self enclosed system??

Not necessarily but it does make it easier for the hard of thinking.

Turning an old open system into a sealed system also gives the OP a sprinkler system.
