I read that you cannot have many thermostatic valves if you have a condensing boiler. Is this correct?

As far as I know that's not correct. What has to be done is to get the heat out of the water before the water is returned to the boiler. If you don't fit thermostatic valves so the heat is able to get out of the radiators, then you have more heat than you need. This seems to be a bit daft as you had the condensing boiler to save heat.

Having said that, condensing boilers move a problem, I doubt they actually solve the problem.

I only install condensing boilers and always fit TRV's. TRV's are a mandatory requirement now for building regulations btw.

So is to fit a room thermostat. Don't tell me you only fit TRVs

Building regs state that TRV MUST be fitted on all radiators except when they share a room with a room state.

also a "boiler interlock" MUST be fitted.

this is simply something that tells the boiler there is no demand for heat (room stste, cylinder stat Etc)

trv's need only be fitted on bedroom rads on an upgrade. you only need to fit trv's on all rads if new system. room stat must now be fitted on all upgrades and new installs. part L building regs "basic" and "best" practices. until april that is
