conductive paint repair solution

hi, i have a ribon wire connection that has worn strips at the end and will only work when i jiggle it about and i am prety sure the conductive paint has worn nealy all away, so my question is has anyone used such a repair in the past and how did you get on with it, do you think it is a viable repair for me to make, there are six individual( lines) to re instate, cheers jd.

I have not so can't speak from any kind of experience, but my logical train of thought would be to buy a new ribbon cable, rather than bodging!
 
Unless you are costantly pulling it in & out it cannot just wear by itself, oxidization of the contacts is a more likely problem which can be simply cured with a dab of de-oxit.
