Hi all

I am installing some conduit along a wall and want it to look good, just wondered what the best way of working out equal spacings of the saddles is from one stop end box to the other.

cheers

depends on what conduit..

if it's plastic then I'd go no more than 500-600mm outdoors.. any more and the conduit will sag when it gets warm..
if it's steel then every 900-1200mm..
vertical spacings you can expand a bit so max 750-900mm plastic, and 1500-1800mm steel.

Conduit support spacings are detailed in the On Site Guide.
It is quite difficult to find as it is under the obscure title:

"Spacing of Supports for Conduits"

Asssuming your using plastic, make sure you fit expansion couplings. But it could still look like crap especially if it's a sunny location. Galvanised steel conduit is the thing to use or multicore cable.

Why is mulicor cable an alternative to conduit :?:

That's what I mean :)

Oh, you mean external swa / armour / hi tuf- I thought you were suggesting TE or a flex  .

Multicore covers a wide selection of internal cable types as well ;)

I agree with Chri5 - very confusing. Especially if one is a DIYer (like this forum is supposed to be aimed at).

So, you mean "multiple cored cables that are suitable for external use".

Much clearer now..
