hi can anyone help i drained my central heating and fitted a new rad . now only one rad gets hot . system has cold water header tank , the ball cock had stuck in the up position when it was drained , sorted this but no heat in rads . the down stairs rads all bleed water , upstairs rads will not bleed with pump off. have tried turning off one by one and running pump. the upstairs heat up but not the downstairs?:

you probably have either an air bubble or a blocked F&E pipe. Turn off the pump

in the morning, try bleeding the upstairs rads and see if water squirts out. Don't do it with the pump running. It might be too late, but bale out the mud from the F&E tank and sponge it clean with bleach. Buy and fit a new ball valve if your old one is sticking.

does the ball valve seem to be running or dripping to refill the system?
did you alter the setting of the lockshield valves?
