I'm sure John Burnerman will be on here within the next couple of hours. He will answer ALL of your questions.

John where are you?

Away at the seaside retreat :p
Try a brand spankers plug - they can fail with no apparent symptom either internally or externally.
Next, try for a spark by laying the plug down on a metal part of the engine and trying the kick start / electric start......if its difficult to see, try this in the dark!
Next is to check for fuel......on the bottom of the carb float bowl there should be a screw which allows the bowl to drain - take this out and see if fuel is present.
Post back if no joy!
John :)

Have a little water at hand when dealing with spark and fuel.

As above, next have a fiddle with the stop switch as they sometimes go faulty.

You`re about 40 years too late for the plug to have whiskered ;) The 2stroke oil today is brilliant

Thanks for replies, RAC guy sorted it while i was at work, apparently spark plug cable was loose or out  i didnt notice that when i took it out to clean

Ah - the old loosen the plug lead trick (@ the coil end ) that and swapping the leads over on the old Brit twins  happy days
