Connect wires to Ikea barometer light

Hi everyone,

My wife just bought a new light with a live and neutral wire connection. So far so good. But when I removed the previous light, I discovered a more complex installation and I have no clue which one could be the live and the neutral. The previous installation didn’t have a L and N set up either…
Can you please help me?

Brown is L
Blue is N

Green&yellow is Earth which you don't need. Terminate safely and position out of the way.

Just to confirm with you please. I cut the L , N and earth wires shorter so I can remove the white plastic holder which prevent me to fix the new base. I mask the earth wire with insulation tape and then connect the L and N and fix the base. Would it be safe? Any tip to put the earth wire out of the way? Many thanks.

Get one of these:

Ashley J501 16A Downlighter Junction Box | Hager (J501)

and connect the ceiling wires to it and then use the white flex from your old light to connect it to the new.
