Connecting Car Alarm - PLEASE HELP!!

Before I start, can I please ask the Moderator not to put this in the car section as no one ever really looks in there and I need to sort this asap!

On my Vauxhall Combo I have an alarm but it's not connected, I pulled the cover off the gearstick and found this

Do I need to connect this to something?

the numbers are laid out on the green side of the chip were the wires are soldered on, 3 of them are in boxes and 1 long not in a box, they read

looks like an immobaliser under fag lighter, has it come off there.

has it been disconnected

When I feel under the immobiliser thing by the cig lighter, there are already wires coming from that and go in towards the engine, Ive felt around for slots to put it in but cant find anything

The item above the gear lever does look like the imobiliser where you have a small chip with a few prongs which lives on your keyring and need to operate before starting the engine.
What exactly is the problem? That item could be anything tbh, if you follow the wires it might give you a better idea. It could be something to do with the imobiliser, proximity reader etc? It has probably been fitted aftermarket as it is left floating about. If you are wanting an alarm fitted then it is normally easier to buy a full kit and start from scratch than messing around with an old system trying to figure out what everything does.

im sure laserline alarms usually have those type of receptacal on their systems,their website has plenty of pictures

Had a scout round websites and no joy, I think I will do as previous said, buy a new alarm,
