Morning All,

I will shortly be installing a shower tray which has its trap located in a different place to that of my old tray. I will be using a 90mm McAlpine trap (1.5"), however I am unsure exactly what I need to connect into the existing waste pipe. The existing pipe appears to have an 43mm OD with a 38mm ID. its welded pipe, but my plan was to cut where I have marked with the yellow line, then use a felxi pipe to connect the two.

Is it ok to cut the existing pipe as I am suggesting?
which flexipipe would I need to connect the two?
any other adaptors required?

Many thanks.

Sooner or later flexi`s cause problems, I`d cut it back and rework in solvent weld to suit.

+1 for that advice. That is solvent welded waste, cut it back to suit, fit a 92.5 bend (not an elbow!), and a stub of pipe into the trap. Keep run short and neat.
