I'm installing a sink in my workshop.
I've excavated and exposed the main 4" drain pipe which is 900 mm below ground level and runs parallel to the wall on which the sink will be positioned. The 4" drain is 1400 mm from the wall.
Can I run the PVC sink waste pipe direct from the sink trap out through the wall then down underground and connect it direct to the 4" drain? Or do I have to cut into the 4" drain, insert a T connector, run 1400mm of 4" pipe to the workshop wall, terminate it with a P trap and connect the sink waste into the trap?
The surface above the existing 4" drain is compacted hard core and vehicles could very occasionally run over the top of the new underground pipe.
Thanks for any advice.
