Hello all,

I need a bit of advice. I am thinking of changing my old style of toilet for a newer type. However, I am not sure what kind of connectors I need to connect the new toilet to the existing cast iron soil pipe. I have uploaded a picture of the existing connection so please click the link below to view it.

Many thanks in advance of your help. :D

Thanks Seco. I’d seen those drain connectors in the Hardware store, just needed to be sure that they were the right thing. I have a few questions though, if that’s ok?

Are those drain connectors a standard size and fit? It’s just I’ve seen them in white, black and grey. Is there a preferred method to fitting them (i.e. finned end into the cast 1st), as I’ve heard about people experiencing leaks once they are connected? Or would this just be due to a poor connection?

What’s the best way to cut the flange, a 230mm angle grinder with a metal cutting blade or a hacksaw? I don’t want to cause any unnecessary damage to the cast?

Also, am I right in thinking that once I’ve cut the flange off, all I should be left with is the 5 or so inches of cast that is protruding from the wall?

Thanks again

Could be a 3 1/2 inch inside diameter iron pipe . Multiquik needed rather than those rigid plastic connectors
