Hello all

I'm having difficulty identifying a 5-way (0.1" pitch) connector supplied with a PIR (see photos below).

The trouble I have is that the flying lead supplied with the unit is too short, and I would like to make a new cable and fit a replacement female connector.

It looks a lot like a Molex or a Tyco, but it isn't!

Any help or guidance would be greatly appreciated.

Maplin, RS, Farnell...
...the list has ended!

We even went back to the European distributor and they couldn't tell us either. Apparently it is an oddball Japanese connector sourced locally.

However, they were most helpful to advise that flying leads could be supplied in standard lengths of 2.5m, 8m and 12m. All we have to do is specify this on our next purchase order.

We're still curious to know what it is though!

That's the baby!

Thanks for that, we'll bear this in mind if we ever have to make our own cable, but in the meantime we'll use the longer cable provided by the supplier.

Thanks again

Just something for you to check

car radio connectors are far bigger than the connector being discussed here.
