conservatory dilema

Hello, I am looking for info on a method for joining conservatory panels using a locking method where you turn a cam to pull them together.This Spring I am going to fit a conservatory and this seems an easier method than screwing panels/frames together. The system seems to be called easy-fit and are supplied by a couple of different companies on the internet which I don't know if I am allowed to name, so I won't.
The companies are too far away for me to go and have a look for myself.
Has anyone used this system?
Could you tell me how good/bad it is?
What is the quality like as they are very reasonably price
Any info would be gratefully received

I will admit to having no experience with them at all & that I'm a bit of a traditionalist but the question I think you should ask yourself is how long cheap flat pack furniture lasts using similar fixings; & they live inside not outside exposed to fairly large temperature variations. No dilemma IMO.

I'd be interested in finding out more about this easy-fit stuff as it's an option we're looking into. I'm sure I had a brochure on it once (kids have probably used it to make hats or something lol).

Are you looking into a dwarf wall conservatory or the full length glazed type? The full length stuff sounds (emphasis on sounds) really easy to install yourself if you get the foundations and base right. I spoke to somebody about it once and it seems (if memory serves me correctly) that you just bolt a rail onto the base and clip the conservatory panels into it.

I am looking to fit a full height one and I have seen step by step base construction on www.tradepriceconservatories.com website.
The construction of base and conservatory seems fairly straightforward.
Its the quality of the conservatory I would like to find out about if anyone out there has fitted one. Thanks.

I worked @ dare I say zenith for ten years and all their frames fitted together like this infact the conservatory i'm sitting in is like this.Don't get me wrong i would never reccomend that firm but the system works well and talk about easy to fit.But how hard is it to screw 2 frames together I would not let that be your deciding factor look at roofs more and hardware.A quicker way to connect frames is nothing compared to a roof that won't stop leaking or crap hinges/locks.

My point exactly; but it would seriously influence my decision.

All equally as important & on replacement windows as well; but I think the erection/fixing methods a company uses has a bearing on how they view the overall quality & longevity of their product. Profit margins on product quality are increasingly difficult to lengthen; it’s the install times that save money & it’s the same in ever industry.

It all comes down to how long you want it to last & a decent cons should be good for 15 years without problems at least
