We had a conservatory built and this was built on a raised concrete plinth, it was built above ground level and the concrete had a DPM below and then concrete, this was then topped with the conservatory and a further DPM below the floor screed.
On top of here was placed 5 layers of some kind of rubber / foam material it is difficult to identify but the product suggests a flat cellular rubber with white polyester both sides. (See Picture)
The problem is that a damp smell developed and lifting the flooring revealed these layers were soaking wet, as this was the entire floor area (3.7m x 3.6m) when lifted.
Lifting it revealed concrete slab (bone dry) with a Blue DPM laid on top - 5 layers of this wet material, another DPM and the T&G P5 Water Resistant Chipboard.
Could do with some help and advice on why this happened and what best to do to avoid a repeat when replaced.
Our plan is to put a DPM back (new) then insulation material - possibly celotex) with new T&G P5 on top. Any advice or suggestions welcome.
Thanks
