hello guys

just a quick one is it ok to use a garage consumer unit to spur off a ring main into a lighting circuit only because it has a 6 amp mcb and a 16 amp mcb in the unit thinking of using 6 amp for lights and 16 amp for ceiling fan maybe reducing that mcb to less for fan.
cheers

no other spurs have been off ring main so this will be first :p

16amps for a ceiling fan ?? How big is it lol

seriously 3amps should be plenty for a ceiling fan and a couple of wall lights. I have never had to put anything bigger than a 3amp fsu for conservatory lights and fans

sorry being silly here so its not worth putting a consumer unit in or is it and what is a fcu not used to technical abbrivations

Just extend the existing house ring into the conservatory, then as said spur off to fcu (3 or 5 amp fuse) to power lights & fan
