Conservatory too bright

Hello
Great as it is for drying clothes etc
It is very difficult to see a laptop screen
We have nice vertical blinds around all sides
But how to block light through the roof is my question.
I don't want to spend 100s or 1000s on fitted ceiling blinds and am wondering if there is a cheaper ingenious solution out there.
Only need to do the half of conservatory which covers dining table.
Have considered getting some material of pool lining quality and pinning it down with weights at main corners. Mustn't put too much weight on plastic roof though. Also the wind would get underneath. Have considered painting it from inside but this of course would not be reversible.

The wife used to hang white sheets at xmas to tart up the conservatory, might be a little ott for using the laptop.
You could just plasterboard the one half of the ceiling.

Suspend nets (the curtain variety) or muslin or even bed sheets below the area you want to cover. Or paint the area with greenhouse shading paint.
