Is this the corrugated waste pipe from the washing machine joining to the spigot underneath the sink waste trap?

I've put a couple in (DIY) and had a problem once which was solved with some plumbers mate.

Suggest you make sure the waste pipe is cut evenly, pushed onto the spigot as far as possible and then clamp the jubilee clip (try a new one just in case the old one's getting out of shape) close to the end of the waste pipe.

The only other way of doing it is to install a separate waste pipe for the machine to drain into. The waste pipe stands vertically and is open at the top. The machine waste pipe then is inserted into it. The manual will show how.

If the hose has been cut short at some point it will have lost its rubber cuff which is needed to get a reliable seal. These cuffs are available but difficult to find so you may find it easier to just get a replacement hose. If you take the hose off and show it to your local washing machine spares stockist they should be able to sell you a suitable universal hose.
