what's the best make of car?

Not a question that be answered definitively, we all have out own preferences.
Crabtree are my favorite.

A good rule of thumb is probably (just like it is for most things), any make not made specifically for the UK consumer market.

Find out which ones Germans or Scandinavians fit most often, and you'll probably not go wrong.

Anyway - this is a good excuse to trot out the photo of a US CU...

Geeze!! Am I glad we don't work in the US. No wonder everyone is suing each other

By new, I mean recent, as in last year or 2.

By part P, i meant Notification etc. Just an example of why it is good for the industry to check work if not by an approved installer.

I'm a DIYer and I do IR and R1+R2 tests properly.

A Diyer able to do Inspection & Testing would know all about Part P and notification.
;)

And how long has that been in force?

And when was that shower wired? (How do you know?)

And when was the photo taken? (How do you know?)

And in which country was the photo taken? (How do you know?)

i here they have more accidents in the us also true?

Holy bad grammer, Batman (though I'm probably guilty of missing words out etc when I'm posting quickly sometimes)

Anyway, What I heard was that they have a lower rate of electrocutions and a higher rate of electricial fires (which would seem to make sense considering they are on 110v)

and...I'm sure they do have more accidents, they are a much bigger country than Britian to start with... ;)
