Our central heating is currently a gravity system. It is plumbed in a similar way to the diagram on page 9 of the glowworm instruction book - diagram 3.3.

The only difference is that there is no cylinder stat. The pipes to the cylinder are in 22mm rather than 28mm. Also, the pipes don't rise continuously - there's a 12 feet lateral pipe run. Put bluntly, it hardly works.
I'm therefore going to convert it to fully pumped.
I have a couple of questions:
Where the feed and expansion is connected - on diagram 3.2 it shows them as being right next to the pump - is there a maximum or minimum distance?
Secondly, as a control pack, I was going to use a Danfoss one

Are these OK or should they be avoided?
Anyone got any other advice or things to look out for?
