I have a pair of large (1.2 x 2.5m) heavy wooden doors that can be closed to split our through living room into two rooms. They are the original Victorian item but they never get closed because the swing on them is so great - they just live flat against the wall.

Is there any sliding gear that I could fix into the existing frame so that they could become sliding doors. The challenge is to make them slide and then recess into the frame once they meet in the middle. I can imagine a mechanism that would do this, but i can't find one to buy! Does it exist? I can't make them into pocket doors, unfortunately, and unless they sit in the frame properly they will look rubbish.
