When connecting a bayonet fitting for a new cooker, is it okay to use a straight 15mm compression to half inch BSP coupling rather than souldering on the wall plate and screwing the bayonet fitting into that?
The problem is that with the normal wall plate the fitting sticks out too far and the cooker won't go back far enough against the wall.
As long as there is a pipe clip close to the connection to keep the bayonet fitting stable this should be okay shouldn't it?
Many thanks.
