Cooker hood ducting install

This may be a daft question.

I need to install a vent for my cooker hood, however directly behind where the chimney is there is a drain pipe.

Am I able to bend my ducting down and to the side so I can fit the outside vent to the side of the drain pipe.

Any and all advice needed on this pretty please.

I don't see why not. It's just the more bends and length you add the less effective the extraction will be.

The more acute and number of bends you have the noisier the extractor will be but if you have no choice???

It's literally going to be half a metre to the left.

Would it be a case of just pulling it through the void in the wall?
I think there is a little insulation which may need to shift

Could you just shift the drain pipe over?

It's one of those super old ones so I can't imagine it would be easy

is the duct 4-inch/100mm? You can easily get flexible ducting, you can also use soil pipe elbows and other connectors.

More modern, powerful extractors are often 125mm or 150mm.

I have got 125mm flex ducting.
The hole currently isn't in the wall yet, I just wasn't sure if I would be able to fit the ducting between the walls and then out as I'm not too sure how much room there is in the void lol
