Is it possible to use 2" diameter ducting for extraction from a cooker hood (if its available) rather than 4" diameter due to the amount of work required for going thru the external wall which happens to be about 1 1/2 feet of solid stone. A lot of work!

The recommended size on my "Stoves" hood, is 5", so even 4" isn't going to give you the best "suck", especially over any distance. The previous owners of our house used 2.5" drain pipe which (according to our kitchen fitter) was "a complete waste of effing time", even though it was only 1.2m long.

If you end up hacking through your wall, I suggest you hire SDS drill or breaker. It should make light work of a 5" hole, even through stone.

just set it to recurculate and forget about it
its not the end of the world isit
